The course has been designed to offer an ambitious programme of study in Film Making at post graduate level (UK Level 7) that encourages students to advance their knowledge of the film making process, as well as expand their understanding and expertise in line with current creative demands around the changing environment of film production, as well as aligning with the university’s strategic aims, which are:

Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the course structures will be awarded the Master of Arts, Film Making.




Fresh Graduate

Academic Level: (1) 2:1 honours degree (Upper Second Class) related subject standard At least a 2:1 honours (Upper Second Class) degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
(2) Professional or postgraduate qualification We will consider a comparable professional or postgraduate qualification as well as relevant and good professional industry experience. (3) Interview (required) Applicants for this course will be invited to attend an interview with a designated member of the Academic Board. (4) Portfolio submission (Film Making MA) All applicants must submit a visual portfolio, which can include a short film or a show-reel (both a maximum of 10 minutes in length). Portfolio works will be reviewed by the Academic Board.


Minimum language requirement:
Equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 5.5 in any band +

Minimum age of 18 years.

Students who don’t possess the necessary English language qualifications are required to sit for English Placement Test set by University of Gloucestershire.
